Am I rich for my age?

That depends on who you compare yourself to. A 30-year-old with a $100,000 net worth is in a very different position from a 65-year-old with the same number. That is why net worth by age is more useful than a single national average.

This page uses percentile breakpoints from the 2022 Survey of Consumer Finances, the Federal Reserve's best household balance-sheet dataset. It is one of the best ways to benchmark whether you are below the median, around the middle, or far ahead of peers.
